Solar Circadian Clock, is an app that helps you to resync your body and mind, to it's natural rhythm.
From an evolutionary point, our natural rhythm, is around the day/night cycle, which is determined by the solar cycle.
We didn't use clocks to tell time, and we didn't have lights at night.
Everything we did, was focussed around the sun, including our sleep & wake cycle, hormones and metabolism.
This app uses your GPS Position, to calculate the Solar Times, and the circadian rhythm of your body for each day.
Sunlight & Daylight
The app shows you the progress of the Sun, through the Solar Day, also highlighting the Meal & Sleep Timings.
It includes data on the Sunlight & Daylight Duration, with an active counter.
It also compares the length to the day before and day after, which shows if the Solar Days are getting longer or shorter.
Solar Timings
The app shows the following Solar Times for your GPS Position:
1) Solar Midnight (Start of Day)
2) Twilight Start
3) Sunrise
4) Solar Noon
5) Sunset
6) Twilight End
7) Solar Midnight (End of Day)
Circadian Timings
The app shows the following Circadian Times for your GPS Position:
1) Rise in Blood Pressure
2) Melatonin Secretion Stops
3) Bowel Movement Likely
4) Highest Testosterone Secretion
5) High Alertness
6) Best Coordination
7) Fastest Reaction Time
8) Greatest Cardiovascular & Muscle Strength
9) Highest Blood Pressure
10) Highest Body Temperature
11) Melatonin Secretion Starts
12) Bowel Movement Suppressed
Meal Timings
The app shows you the following meal times, based on your Circadian Rhythm and Natural Metabolism:
1) Breakfast
2) Lunch
3) Dinner
Sleep Timings
The app shows you the following Sleep Times, based on your Circadian Rhythm and Sleep Cycles:
1) Optimal Time to Wake Up
2) Optimal Time to Sleep
3) "NREM 1" Stage
4) "NREM 2" Stage
5) "NREM 3" Stage
6) "REM" Stage
The use of Sleep Cycles, allow you to plan your ideal sleep timings to maximise your rest.
Each Sleep Cycle, is further divided to show you the following timings:
Healthy Wake Timings - These are the best times to wake up, with or without an alarm clock.
Natural Wake Timings - These are the times you will be going through REM stage, and should only wake up naturally, without an alarm clock.
Studies have shown that forcing yourself to wake up during these timings, can lead to a negative mood for the day.
Unhealthy Wake Timings - These are the times when you are in your Deepest Sleep.
Waking up during these times, causes "Sleep Inertia", which causes you to have slower thinking and reaction.
Solar/Circadian Event Information
For every Solar & Circadian event, you get the following:
Custom Event - Where you can create your own linked event. For Example, you can add "Go to Gym", 30 Minutes before the Highest Testosterone event.
Notification - Where you can choose to be notified when it's time for the event.
Favourite - Where you can make the event to be shown more obviously.
Multi-Day Timing - Where you can see the event time for the day before, and next few days, to know if it's getting earlier or later.
You can add them to your device alarm clock or calendar.
Home Screen Widget
You can add a widget to your device's home screen, which will show a list of all the upcoming Solar & Circadian events.
Other Dates
You can also search for the Solar & Circadian Information, for your GPS Location, but for another date.
This is ideal when you are planning for a future event. For example, if you are organising a "Sunrise Yoga" event for the weekend.
Other Cities
You can also search for the Solar & Circadian Information, for other cities.
While this lacks the accuracy of using your GPS, it is ideal if you are planning a trip, and wish to plan an event.
