Birding Notebook is the single Android app totally free that gives you the amazing opportunity to share bird observations with the worldwide birder community. You can publish in real time the bird you are currently seeing through your binoculars. The bird datasheets and sounds will also facilitate the field identification.
Birding Notebook is opened to all kind of birders: from the simple fan to the most experimented.
→ No need to create a new account: use your Google+ account to authenticate.
→ Handle the list of expeditions submitted to birdingnotebook.com. Consult the bird pictures submitted by all the users. Consult and modify the species observed, the places and the comments.
→ Create new expeditions to submit them directly or keep them stored into your phone. Everything is foreseen to enhance your field experience from the most remote places not covered with mobile networks.
→ Create new spots thanks to the GPS localization or with the Google Maps reverse geocoding function (no need to enter the place name, Google map is doing it for you).
→ List the birds you've seen in that place. A worldwide bird database is available in English, French and scientific names. You can enter the bird by auto completion (type only 3 letters and a list of choice will appear). You can even use Birding Notebook for translation needs.
→ Share your expeditions with your fellow birders. Once the expedition will be accepted, it will appear in his list too.
→Add a free comment to your bird observations for example “Cranes migrating” or “Kites breeding”. The comments are an important added value for your observation.
→ Thanks to the “Birding Notebook Content Provider”, consult the expeditions of your favorite place, your favorite birder or check if the bird you are looking for has been recently observed nearby.
→ Birding Notebook handles multi user sessions. You can lend your phone to a fellow birder and he can log with his own account.
